70th Anniversary Season

70th Anniversary banner
In the 70 years since its founding, the Limón Dance Company has achieved a great deal. It was the first modern dance company to share its uniquely American dance form with Europe and the first to tour on behalf of the US State Department in South America in 1954. The Limón Dance Company was the first dance company to perform at Lincoln Center in Philharmonic Hall in 1963. And with José Limón’s passing in 1972, it became the first dance company to survive its founder’s death.
